Week 1

 Week 1: Three Pictures

Creative Work:

This is one of my early attempts at a hyper-realistic drawing of a water drop and the resultant ripples. It was a representation of my life during the HSC period where I felt that very small influences could have massive, uncontrollable impacts on the rest of my life. I tried to show this through the contrast of dark and light shading as well as the solidity of the ripples.

Architectural Work:

This is the Villa Savoye. It was the work of the legendary French architect, Le Corbusier. This building explored many new ideas about architecture that were extremely advanced for its time. Built between 1928 and 1931, it broke many of the established "rules" of architecture, such as new circulation paths, materials, geometry and the idea of an open facade. It's influence can still be seen in many houses in our present society.

Something Beautiful:

Taken by Louise Denton, this photograph of a sunset over Western Australia continues to show the raw beauty and passion of nature that we often forget about due to our busy urbanized lifestyle.
